The trust is a United Kingdom registered charity
number 1000748, which was established in 1990 at the instigation
of Jean Alexander MBE author of the Putnam book “Russian Aircraft
since 1940” and founder of the Russian Aviation Research Group
The objects of the trust are:
To advance the education of the public in
respect of aviation and for this purpose collect research and write
material on Russian aircraft, aviation and aviators and the history
To collate, publish and preserve all requisite
information and data in respect of the above and presence as a collection
of research material.
Russian Aviation Archives
The Russian Aviation Research Trust maintains
the largest public archive in the West devoted to the history of
Russian aircraft and aviation.
The archive is kept at wood farm, Pledgdon Green, Henham, Bishops Stortford, CM22 6BN. Which is
close to Stansted Airport.
Anyone interested in Russian aviation history
is welcome to visit the archives by prior appointment, by contacting
